Friends of

Introduction

Many of the historically significant local buildings and estates are Charitable Trusts or Foundations and are supported by ‘Friends of…’ societies. These societies are devoted to the conservation of these treasures, for the good of the community. Members give their time voluntarily in activities such as volunteering, fundraising, stewarding and helping to raise the attraction’s profile locally, spending as much time as they can spare.

They are always happy to hear from people who would like to give some of their time to support the friends by volunteering on these projects. If you are interested in joining one of these societies, please visit their website for more details.

Message from the Friends:

You’ll probably know the little church in the field. It’s a beautiful little church in a unique setting but it’s in trouble. We are hoping you would help to keep it stable and standing. Website: Idsworth Church Friends

It gives me great pleasure to draw your attention to the work of the Friends of Stansted Park (FOSP). Stansted Park attracts thousands of visitors every year, drawn by its great beauty and tranquillity, excellent facilities and a long and fascinating history. I invite you to consider joining us in our support of the Stansted Park Foundation whose dedicated work has led to formal recognition of the estate as being one of the Best Small Attractions in the south east. Message from the Friends:

The Friends of Staunton Country Park group all give their time voluntarily to run projects that seek to educate the public about the park’s history and draw attention to the diversity of flora and fauna present in the Park. We are always happy to hear from people who would like to give some of their time to support the friends by volunteering on these projects/events, or by signing up to a volunteer role that supports the committee directly.
